MSDH reports 957 new cases of COVID-19, 44 new deaths

Today MSDH is reporting 957 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 44 new deaths (10 of which occurred between June 17 and June 28, identified from death certificate reports). Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 32,214, with 1,158 deaths.

Thirty-three of the new cases and 16 of the deaths reported today were among residents in long-term care facilities. There are now 104 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff).

Currently there are 648 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection, and 237 with suspected COVID-19.
