Snow accumulations and freezing temperatures from the recent winter storm could present dangerous travel conditions,  Officials with the Mississippi Department of Transportation say as of Sunday afternoon, there are 17 counties with reports of iced-over bridges or roads.  There were as many as 19 counties reporting such conditions early Sunday Morning.

Accumulations in some parts of northern Mississippi have caused outages.  The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency is issuing guidance for those without power during the wintery conditions.

The National Weather Service in Memphis is issuing a Winter Weather Advisory though 6:00 p.m. Sunday.  Forecasters say wet snow with accumulations of up to one and a half inches can be expected.

MDOT is advising motorists to limit travel and to use caution while driving.  Updates on road conditions, traffic alerts and a full list of affected areas can be found on the MDOT Traffic Map.
