JACKSON, Miss. – Meet Carl Jackson - Mississippi Public Broadcasting’s original documentary about country music legend and Louisville, Mississippi native Carl Jackson – will be available for national syndication via PBS Plus beginning March 15.

"We're very pleased that PBS Plus chose to distribute Meet Carl Jackson to PBS member stations. We've had MPB-produced programs distributed nationally before, but to be heavily promoted by PBS's own programming service means there will be a substantial audience all over the country for this Mississippi story,” said MPB Director of Television John Gibson. “It's also a nice vote of confidence in MPB, since the documentary was produced entirely in-house with MPB personnel."

The hour-long program premiered on MPB Television in February 2020. It features Marty Stuart, Vince Gill, Tom T. Hall, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt and others who all share their admiration for Jackson – a Grammy-winning producer, hit songwriter, renowned musician and vocalist, tireless mentor and trusted friend.

PBS Plus is a syndicated programming service for public television stations, supplementing PBS’s primetime, daily news and children’s content with series and specials ranging from "how-to" programs such as This Old House and Martha Bakes to topical news and information programs and arts and cultural shows such as Austin City Limits and Bluegrass Underground. More than 330 PBS member stations, reaching all available national TV households, have access to PBS Plus content.

PBS Plus also seeks out content that embraces our country's cultural diversity through heritage documentaries and holiday celebration programs. Half-hour lifestyle series in the food, home improvement, and other lifestyle genres are also a content priority.

Meet Carl Jackson will reair on MPB Television March 5 at 8 p.m., March 11 at 11 p.m. and March 13 at 5 p.m. Tune in or stream online live to MPB Television anytime here. To see trailers of the documentary visit https://www.pbs.org/show/meet-carl-jackson/.
