JACKSON, Miss. – Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) proudly announces the return of award-winning filmmaker and public television veteran Kathryn Rodenmeyer, APR, as the new Director of Television. Rodenmeyer brings over three decades of experience in public media production and communications to the role.
A Jackson native, Rodenmeyer began her media career with MPB as the coordinating producer for the inaugural season of Mississippi Outdoors. She has since led communications efforts for both nonprofit and trade organizations and earned national recognition for her work in media production and public relations. Her award-winning television documentaries and educational programs have aired on public broadcasting stations nationwide.
Most recently, she served as executive producer and editor for MPB’s Southern Remedy television series and produced the educational series Mind in the Making (2022) through her company, Mosaic Media.
”Kathryn’s return to MPB at this time and in this role is extremely critical and important,” said Chief Content Officer Taiwo Gaynor. “Her experience in public broadcasting, commitment to high-quality storytelling, and proven leadership will help guide our media creation and television programming to new heights.”
Rodenmeyer holds a bachelor’s degree in photojournalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a certificate in population health science from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in communication from Mississippi State University.
