Across Mississippi, technology is reshaping remote education. Teacher shortages, especially in rural and high-poverty districts, have pushed schools toward costly online options. A partnership between Mississippi Public Broadcasting and the Mississippi Department of Education offers a more effective solution through e-Glass technology, which brings clarity and connection to virtual classrooms.
Using e-Glass, certified teachers and student interns can write, draw, and teach while maintaining eye contact with students. The system mirrors content in real time, creating an experience that feels closer to an in-person classroom.
MPB and its partners also provide ongoing training and mentorship, helping educators use the technology with confidence and creativity. Through this innovative collaboration, MPB and MDE are making remote learning more personal, equitable, and impactful for Mississippi students.
