Southern Wilds
Southern Wilds is a fresh, adventurous new program hosted by Amanda Mills of Mississippi Outdoors, bringing listeners closer to the land, water, wildlife, and outdoor traditions that define the South. Each episode explores the rhythms and wonders of the natural world—from conservation efforts and ecological discoveries to hunting, fishing, foraging, and outdoor recreation across Mississippi and the Gulf South.
With her signature warmth and deep connection to the outdoors, Mills guides engaging conversations with biologists, naturalists, environmental storytellers, and everyday adventurers, offering listeners practical knowledge, inspiring stories, and a deeper appreciation for the wild places that surround us. Southern Wilds invites audiences to slow down, step outside, and reconnect with the beauty and biodiversity of the Southern landscape.
New episodes air every Wednesday at 3 p.m. on MPB Think Radio and are available the next day on any podcast player.
