MSDH reports 1,210 new cases of COVID-19, 40 deaths

Today, MSDH is reporting an additional 1,210 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 40 deaths. Twenty-two deaths occurred between January 18 and February 4, and 18 occurred between December 13 and January 28, identified from death certificate reports. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases now stands at 279,742, with 6,222 deaths. (The 1,210 additional cases today happen to be the same increase reported yesterday.)

Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified 22 new cases in residents of long-term care facilities, and one death. There are currently 138 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
