JACKSON, Miss. — Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) received top honors across radio, television and social media at the April 11, 2026 Mississippi Association of Broadcasters Awards.
MPB was recognized for its continued commitment to public service, storytelling and impactful journalism. Remembering Hurricane Katrina, 20 Years Later earned first place in Radio Documentary or Series of Stories and second place in Radio Achievement. The feature story, “Sinners brings fresh attention to a Delta town’s mythical legacy, future and culture,” received first place in the Feature Story category. @ISSUE won first place for Public Affairs Program, while Mississippi Edition earned second place in the same category.
MPB Think Radio garnered awards across multiple categories, including news, public affairs and personality recognition. The Sitdown with Russ Latino and In Legal Terms were also honored first and second in Radio Talk Show category. Germaine Flood was recognized with a second place award in the competitive Radio Personality of the Year category.
Additional honors were awarded for Everlasting: Life and Legacy of Medgar Evers, as well as for social media and station promotion efforts supporting the documentary’s companion podcast. MPB also received recognition in the Public Service Announcement category for the “Won’t You Be Our Neighbor” branding campaign and earned Best Social Media Platform for its Facebook profile, @MPBonline.
