The Mississippi Book Festival, a nonprofit founded by literacy advocates, launched in August 2015 on the State Capitol grounds

and continues to draw thousands to its annual “literary lawn party” and book lovers’ celebration.

The official Mississippi Book Festival website is where you will find the lists of books, visiting authors, and discussion panels that will be on site at the Mississippi State Capitol between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 20th. Join MPB's Ed Said and PBS's Molly from Denali during the festival! The MPB Kids Club will be inside on the first floor of the Capitol Rotunda from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be free activities throughout the day, plus visits with the young health advocate and adventurous Alaskan! (Parents can enjoy a cool spot and sign up for MPB Kids Club and Fine Tunings at the same time!)
