Today MSDH is reporting an additional 1,212 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 17 deaths. 13 deaths occurred between October 19 and October 23, and 4 occurred between September 22 and October 17, identified from death certificate reports. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases for the year now stands at 115,088, with 3,255 deaths.
Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified 29 new cases in residents of long-term care facilities, and 3 deaths. There are currently 133 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
NOTE: Cases and deaths normally reported on Sunday will appear on Monday as separate totals for both days.
