MSDH is reporting an additional 576 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 22 deaths. Ten deaths occurred between January 1 and March 5, and 12 occurred between January 23 and February 28, identified from death certificate reports. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases now stands at 297,321, with 6,805 deaths.
Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified 7 new cases in residents of long-term care facilities, and 2 deaths. There are currently 55 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
