MSDH reports 653 new COVID-19, nine new deaths

Today MSDH is reporting 653 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 9 new deaths (4 of which occurred between June 18 and June 25, identified from death certificate reports). Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 27,900, with 1,082 deaths.

54 of the new cases reported today were among residents in long-term care facilities. There are now 98 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities statewide (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff).

Currently there are 579 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection, and 207 with suspected COVID-19.
