MSDH is reporting a total of 675 additional cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and eight deaths. Today's totals include cases and deaths from both Saturday and Sunday.
There were 228 cases and two deaths reported as of October 24, and 447 cases with six deaths were reported as of October 25. Four deaths occurred between October 11 and October 25, and four occurred between August 29 and October 6, identified from death certificate reports. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases for the year now stands at 115,763, with 3,263 deaths.
Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified six new cases in residents of long-term care facilities, and no deaths. There are currently 133 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
