Today, MSDH is reporting an additional 781 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 33 deaths (12 of which occurred between August 10 and August 27, identified from death certificates). Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases for the year now stands at 84,365, with 2,526 deaths.
Today's cases included 16 among residents in long-term care facilities, and four resident deaths. There are now 158 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
