Today, MSDH is reporting an additional 713 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 14 deaths. Thirteen deaths occurred between October 8 and October 12, and one occurred September 25, identified from death certificate reports. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases for the year now stands at 105,941, with 3,115 deaths.
Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified 29 new cases in residents of long-term care facilities, and 7 deaths. There are currently 128 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
