The new MPB Think Radio schedule drops January 5. We’ve reimagined our schedule to better serve your daily listen, featuring a mix of familiar voices and brand-new programs. Weekday mornings will continue with Morning Edition until 9 a.m., followed by The Blend, a music block hosted by DJ Java, airing from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The new schedule also marks the return of @Issue! Join us every Monday at 5:00 p.m. for essential coverage as we head back into the legislative session. Additionally, The Gestalt Gardener expands from a one to two-hour program, starting at 9 a.m., and Southern Remedy remains in its weekday 11 a.m. time slot. Please note that other local programs are moving to new afternoon times at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.

The updated lineup will introduce a couple of brand-new local shows that listeners are sure to enjoy, starting with It’s Lit, Y’all on Mondays, hosted by Ellen Daniels of the Mississippi Book Festival, and Southern Wilds on Wednesdays, hosted by Amanda Mills of Mississippi Outdoors. Listeners will also get the chance to hear some new national shows making their way into the broadcast schedule. While MPB may no longer broadcast some national NPR shows, such as All Things Considered, listeners can still access those programs on demand through NPR.org and the NPR app.

About Us

In 2008, Mississippi Public Broadcasting decided to expand the state’s classic public radio format with programs that would be more specific to Mississippians.  Shows were developed that used local volunteers to discuss issues that directly impacted the state: personal finance, healthcare, and household issues. There are now over a dozen weekly programs that discuss everything from local music to cuisine, all tailored to the topics that affect our community every day.

Today, Mississippians not only get the fact-based journalism and classic selection of music they expect from around the nation, but also shows that are relevant to life in Mississippi.
